You can only find truth if you're not afraid of what you're going to find. It's true of everything in science and in life. And I don't know many people who are not afraid of the truth. In the immortal movie words of Jack Nicholson, 'You can't handle the truth.'
Regarding the Truth, Winston Churchill said:
Men occasionally stumble over the the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened.I'm not sure if Churchill meant that ordinary men failed to recognize the truth when they saw it or if, when they did, they pretended not to recognize it. I should look into the full context of the quote.
