Nice song. I wonder if the band played it on the deck of the "ship of dreams" as it slipped beneath the cold Atlantic?
My grandmother's ship docked at Ellis Island the same day as the Titanic survivors docked on the Carnelian. She remembered the hysteria surrounding the sinking.
I thought the photo sequence was a nice chronology.
Carnelian? Don't you mean Carpathia? There were immigrants on board Titanic, but I'm pretty sure she went directly to the White Star Line piers and then Pier 54. Her immigrants would have been processed somewhere but I never heard Ellis Island. I can immagine that the story and excitement was everywhere that day.
