Romney said "gasoline prices have doubled" since Obama took office. The average price for regular gasoline was $3.84 last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, a bit more than double the $1.89 average on the week Obama was sworn in. Add the California State excise tax and that comes to $4.45.You'd have to be somebody rich, like a Chem Attorney to weather the storm without feeling the pinch... ;^)
That was diesel, LL. Gasoline is slightly less, actually--about $4.20 or so per gallon. You'd have to be somebody rich, like a Chem Attorney to weather the storm without feeling the pinch... ;^)I am rich--in spirit--especially on weekends. (invited to the VFW again. :)
Beware, they don't water down the drinks there.
The would warrant summary execution!
The Federal excise taxes on diesel are actually higher than those levied on gasoline per gallon. The State of CA is exactly opposite: they tax diesel less than gasoline. This surprised me when I first realized it, but it's on the pump. The State got something right for once.
I went to Chicago a couple weeks ago. That helps prepare me for the sticker shock of gas prices every winter in San Diego.
