    I wonder what made it better to let the building fall into ruins instead of using it to manufacture something.

    A rotten tax base and a general loss of a manufacturing incentive. This was 1984-once a scary future.

    I dunno know, you're the one who has been to China. What would it take?

    Our unemployment is all about institutionalized decadence. We don't have jobs because we don't want the jobs that are out there. Jobs have to be "green", stable, 40 hours a week (or less), fun, allow a life/work balance and be well paying. Any other type of job is, or is in the process of becoming, illegal.

    Drop the minimum wage, OSHA, and the ADA, and don't enact any new laws at all. Work on getting rid of regulations/rules we already have and remember pollution equals jobs.
