Ethnic Germans Reject Kloppenburg?

I noticed the curious swath across the state map of voting results in yesterday's judicial election in Wisconsin:

That orange swath reminded me a little of the orange swath of ethnic Germans who settled the state:

  5. Ethnic Germans are beyond all doubt more conservative. Please refer to "Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod" vs "Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod" and "Evangelical Lutheran Church in America."
