Povera Casavecchia

Non so cosa dire. Solo Dio lo sa. E ha lasciato la scena nel 1966.

  1. Yes, beyond words. Divina canzone.

Have you heard the Langley Schools Music Project version?

I don't much enjoy children singing, usually. But I'm very fond of this album. So strangely, eerily, moving and beautiful, especially this song. I get goosebumps.

  3. Paul McCartney has called this song his favorite of all time. He's quoted at the Wiki page.

I read elsewhere (can't remember where but could probably refind) that the song challenged him as a songwriter at the time because of its complexity and so forth. Apparently, The Beatles hadn't yet done something as sublime. Of course they went on to do so and Brian Wilson sort of got buried.

  6. Brian Wilson was a genius beyond compare. He hired some great musicians, too.

I often think the inverse of this song - God might have blessed me had I never met the woman I married. But that's a story for another day.
