I was stat...Enjoyed reading your blog entry today. I was stationed at Verdun-sur-Meuse in 1955-56, US Army (Charlie Company, 23rd Field Maintenance Engineers). The good old Cold War days. I was 18 years old on arrival, soon had a French girlfriend who led me on historical tours all around the many battlefields, military cemeteries and of course the famous ossuary at Douaumont.
